Pirates On The Loose

On The Lines

1.Many pirates operate from Somalia.
2.They resort to piracy because, there are no government programs offering food and shelter to Somalis who have lost there jobs.
3.They are unable to control their citizens because, Somalia lacks a strong government, and there is no one to keep crime off land and off water.
4.90 vessels have been hijacked, by pirates since January.
5.The hijacking of the Sirius Star, was the largest hijack in marine time history, which makes it so different.
6.To solve the problem i suggest, Somalia gets a stronger government, that offers food and shelter to citizens without a job.

True Or False

1.False, because piracy to different waters off Somalia, Southern Asia, Nigeria, and Iraq.
2.False, 80 percent of international freight is transported by sea.
3.False, Somalia's government doesn't provide food and shelter for its people.

Between The Lines

Good Morning Johnson's Shipping Company. I, Captain Wesley, leader of our crew, demand 25 million dollars for the safe return of our ship and its crew members. I will need the money by the end of this week, or your ship, and its crew members, will be sunk to the bottom of the ocean.

Sincerely,
Captain Wesley

Just Talk About It

Ever since Somalia's government couldn't provide food and shelter, piracy has spread to many waters. I feel that the reason for this is because Somalia lacks a strong government, and also because no one has done anything to stop it.
