1. a) I notice, that each modern city has been a part of the middle east since 500 B.C., and still remain where Iraq is today. These ancient lands lived next to a great source of water, which started from the Mediterranean Sea, and traveled to the 2 rivers(Tigris, Euphrates), which then ended at the Persian Gulf. These bodies of water made it easier for their people to harvest food, and also nourish themselves.
b) The 3 cities are: Sumer(since 2500 BCE), Babylon(since 1700BCE), and Assyria(since 625 BCE).
2. a) Most of the cities were located near the Persian Gulf/Mediterranean Sea, because of the water supply that traveled from the Mediterranean Sea, across the 2 rivers(Tigris, Euphrates), and then ended at the Persian Gulf. This pattern made it easy for them to collect water for harvesting food, since they lived close to these great sources of water.
b) They compare because, the only source of water these 2 cities have are the rivers which spread across Mesopotamia. While this system repeated, the Modern cities decided to build their own irrigation system, and dams, which lead to them not needing the water they used to share.
c) What changed is that the Modern cities learned how to irrigate water so they can travel, on the other hand, the other cities had not thought of this idea and still had to lived next to a source of water.
3.a) The northeast isn't as hospital to agriculture because, it lacks a plain, or flat area for farming, and also wouldn't have much water supply near so that would lead to them having to transport water from the rivers by. The southwest, on the other hand, has a perfect flat area for farming, but would have to go a long way logging water from the far rivers up north(Tigris, and Euphrates).
b) The role of the Terrain would be to unable the Mesopotamians in growing food because it lacks a flat area for agriculture.
4.a) It is in the larger region because, it contains more valuable resources such as: Silver, Iron, Copper, and Bitumen.
b) The big amount of water supply that appeared when the Mesopotamians tried to dig, which lead to everything getting muddy. And the amount of mountains that enabled them to farm food suitable for selling.
5.a) I would describe Mesopotamia as a place suitable for living, but also lacks flat areas, and instead has a wide range of mountains. Mesopotamians can water there plants by transporting water from the nearby rivers.
